My Story

This October I have decided to enter my first ever organised race - the 10k at the Great Scottish Run. I have decided to raise funds for the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity.

I'm a dad of two young children myself, one of whom was an outpatient at both Yorkhill and latterly the Queen Elizabeth for a number of months after she was born.

I am well aware of the great work you do, having seen a lot of it first hand whilst regularly visiting the hospital. Thankfully our daughter didn’t require much support as her condition was not serious, but she did enjoy being fussed over whilst she was there! Hopefully we will never have to draw on support from the charity again (no parent ever does), but it is a comfort to know that it is there when required.

The Great Scottish Run is the biggest and best running event in Scotland. Starting in the heart of the city, runners soak up the incredible atmosphere and music all the way to the finish in Glasgow Green. With rocking entertainment zones every kilometre and some of the best (and loudest!) crowd support anywhere in the world, It’s an event day experience like no other. It’s not all about the adults, the Junior & Mini events give the kids a chance to experience that finish line feeling, earn a special medal & raise money for good causes.
